Events
Events are a wonderful dynamic datatype allowing you to schedule calendar items. You can schedule the Publish Date for an Event, so the item does not show on your website until a later date. Also, Events will automatically archive from your public website when the Event has concluded.
Helpful Tip: To edit an existing Event, select the icon from the list view.
Add Event#
- Select Events from the left column.
- Click the icon to add a new Event.
The Slug does not need to be edited, as it is automatically generated. - Add the Title, Image, Event Type, Event Series, Event Audience, Index Summary, Body, Start/End Date, and Publish Date.
Index Summary will only show on the Events index page. The Summary content must be copied into the Body field to appear on the Event detail page. - Add Subtitle and Image Caption as needed.
- Make sure the Public box is checked and click Save.
Helpful Tip: Once you have saved an Event for the first time, you can add Blocks to customize the layout.
Helpful Tip: Link Event items to related content from the “Related” section in the middle column after the event has been saved the first time.
Add Sub-Events#
When Your Event Has Scheduled Items Happening
- Select Events from the left column.
- Click the icon to edit an existing Event.
- In the middle column, under Specifications, select Events.
- Click the icon to add a new Sub-Event.
- Follow the steps above (Add Event) to add one or more sub-event.
- Make sure the Public box is checked and click Save.
Recurring Event#
Set Up Events That Take Place on a Regular Basis
- Select Events from the left column.
- Click the icon to add a new Event.
The Slug does not need to be edited, as it is automatically generated. - Add the Title, Image, Event Type, Event Series, Event Audience, Index Summary, Body, Start/End Date, and Publish Date.
Index Summary will only show on the Events index page. The Summary content must be copied into the Body field to appear on the Event detail page. - Add Subtitle and Image Caption as needed.
- Select Recurring Interval.
Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly - Select the end date under Recurring Until.
- Make sure the Public box is checked and click Save.
Helpful Tip: A Recurring Event needs to be set up when you create the event. You cannot edit an existing event to be a recurring one.
Add Event Type#
Categorize Your Events by Having Different Types
- Select Events from the left column.
- Select Type from the middle column.
- Click the icon to add a new Event Type.

The Plural Title allows us to dynamically use this in instances where there are more than one. - Make sure the Public box is checked and click Save.
Add Event Audience#
Allow Users to Filter Options by Having Event Audiences
- Select Events from the left column.
- Select Audience from the middle column.
- Click the icon to add a new Event Audience.

Add Event Series#
Group Events by Establishing an Event Series
- Select Events from the left column.
- Select Series from the middle column.
- Click the icon to add a new Event Series.
